Duwa was born when her Dad, a Malawian citizen, lived outside the Country as a political refugee. Her family's story unfolded in extraordinary ways, and for a season it played out in the public eye, when Duwa's Dad - Dr. Bingu wa Mutharika - became president of Malawi. 

Nathan Chiume: born in Tanzania where his Dad - Kanyama Chiume - took political refuge in the mid 1960s, Nathan grew up with both Malawian and Tanzanian heritages. He later on moved to the United States for higher education and has been living there for over 20 years. 

Refugee Rights Defender and Podcaster extraordinaire, Jasmin O'Hara interviews them, alongside our Founder Innocent Magambi, himself born and raised in exile, but under very different circumstances.
